Tea Garden & Farm Shop

Quarr Abbey Tea & Farm Shop is part of the ministry of welcome by the monastic community to our many visitors. As life is so hectic for most people, it is important to provide an oasis of peace where people can relax and have time for themselves and for God. Everyone who comes here enjoys the peace of our gardens and church; we wish to preserve the character of our monastic home, while extending our welcome to more people of all ages and abilities, so as to express our Christian commitment to serve Christ in all we meet.

We purchase our tea and coffee principally from fair trade sources. Most of our cakes are made locally or in our own kitchen. Our menu consists of light lunches, including sandwiches, Panini, soup and daily specials. All our food is freshly prepared, making the most of the organically grown allotment produce which is grown on site.

The farm shop offers a variety of local island products along with Quarr Abbeys own unique range of products which include ale, eggs, honey, jams and chutneys, all made with Quarr Abbeys own allotment – grown produce which is also available to buy.

While you are sitting in our beautiful garden, you may see red squirrels running along the garden wall, buzzards circling over the woods, and ravens perched on the belfry of the church. You can be quite sure a robin or two will come and eat any crumbs you can spare.

We are grateful to our small team of committed employees who provide the welcome and friendly service which is the hallmark of our teashop.

We are continually trying to improve the service we offer, especially at lunch time. In order to achieve this improvement in range of choice and regularity of supply, we have appointed a professional manager. We are very grateful to the volunteer staff who enabled us to build up the teashop to this point.

The Tea & Farm Shop is open daily (except on Good Friday and from Christmas Eve to New Year’s Eve inclusive) Weekdays 10.00 to 5.00 and Sundays 11.15 to 5.00 Summer time and 10.00 to 4.00 Weekdays and 11.15 to 4.00 Winter time.
