Welcome to the Abbey of Our Lady of Quarr, a monastery on the Isle of Wight. Situated just off the south coast of England, Quarr is home to a small group of Benedictine monks who dedicate their lives to the glory of God. We welcome you to join us here and discover the peace, beauty and tranquillity of Quarr.
Our organs have suffered from two damp winters. Our Mutin Cavaillé Coll organ (1912) is in need of minor repairs. Our electronic organ is beyond repair, but we have the opportunity to replace it with a little pipe organ. We need around £ 3,000 to cover the costs of these two projects. Easter at Quarr is a good season to learn again that
Flowers open after winter months of apparent death,
Birds sing joyfully as they build new nests for their little ones to come,
Lambs gamble and bleat in the meadows.
Even roads reopen (!) giving access to visitors old and new – all welcome!
Will our hearts open, too,
To make peace after conflicts and wars
To forgive after disputes
To foster every human life from its conception to its natural end,
To bring a smile of hope on all faces around?
