The importance of legacies?
Making a will ensures that your wishes are carried out after you have passed. Unfortunately, if you do not write a will the government will decide how your estate is allocated. This may mean your belongings are not distributed as you intended leaving loved ones and/ or charities that were close to your heart not provided for in the way you had hoped. It is therefore crucial you keep your will as up to date as possible.

Any legacy you are able to make will help to fund urgent repair works and on-going maintenance of the Abbey and its medieval ruins, and secure our presence for future generations.
How can a legacy help Quarr Abbey?
The ruins are Scheduled ancient monument, the Abbey Church and Monastery buildings are Grade 1 listed.
Public areas of the abbey are free for all to enjoy but the cost of the upkeep is significant.
