Easter, Season of Hope

The season of Easter is the season of hope. We celebrate Christ’s resurrection. He is victorious over death. He opens human life to an eternal horizon. He brings hope into the world.

Christ’s resurrection is not his coming back to the ordinary conditions of our life. It is his entering the new world of the resurrection: our world, but healed, but renewed, but transfigured, but divinised. It is the sign that a great and divine gift is prepared for us and offered to us. A window has opened in a closed wall and a new world can be glimpsed. A different light is invitingly shining.

Easter Message 2026

Easter at Quarr is a good season to learn again that
Flowers open after winter months of apparent death,
Birds sing joyfully as they build new nests for their little ones to come,
Lambs gamble and bleat in the meadows.
Even roads reopen (!) giving access to visitors old and new – all welcome!

Will our hearts open, too,
To make peace after conflicts and wars
To forgive after disputes
To foster every human life from its conception to its natural end,
To bring a smile of hope on all faces around?

“Christ is risen from the dead.”
Happy Easter to you all!
